Certification Exam

The CVE core exam fee is $250 ($US). You have eighty (80) minutes to complete eighty-three (83) questions on the computer-based exam. All questions are configured into multiple choice selections. Some questions have more than one correct answer. In these instances, you will be instructed as to how many answers you must select.

There are multiple forms for the exam. Each form tests equivalent skills and knowledge. You will not know in advance which form of the exam you will receive. If you fail one form of the exam, and choose to re-take the exam, you will be given a different form, which contains a set of statistically equivalent questions. The re-take fee is the same as the first-time fee. After two attempts, you must wait one year before re-taking the exam.

To reschedule or cancel an exam, you must notify Prometric at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. If you fail to keep a scheduled exam or do not provide the required 48 hours notice of change, the scheduled exam is considered a failed exam and you forfeit your test fees.

Cash refunds are not available.

Re-takes are not included in the exam price. If you fail the exam, you must pay to take the exam again.
